Language reference
The language a file that starts with "use typeshade" is written in. 309 names, read from the compiler's own language service at commit 26de7be8, which is the table the editor answers a hover from.
This is the reference for shader authors. The surface a host application and the fn() builder call is the compiler API reference.
- Types 65 names
- The scalar, vector, matrix and memory types a declaration names.
- Attributes 9 names
- The decorators that mark an entry point and bind a field to the pipeline.
- Builtin values 16 names
- The
@builtin(...)ids the pipeline supplies, with the stage each belongs to. - Functions 175 names
- The functions a shader calls, by family, with the text each backend writes.
- Constants 8 names
- The compile-time literals the compiler inlines, and
discard. - Math members 36 names
- The
Mathmembers a shader may reach, each routed to a builtin or a literal. - Error codes 83 codes
- The code on a diagnostic, what it means and how to fix it.

- What the language may contain and how it may change, one rule per page.
Reading an entry
An entry holds the declaration the editor loads for that name, the compiler's sentence about it, and for a builtin function the WGSL and the GLSL ES 3.00 text each backend writes. The builtin table is the scanning view over the same calls, four columns wide.
The signature and the sentence under each name are the compiler's own text at commit 26de7be8.
